The KC-10 Extender is Mcdonnel Douglas's Main In air refueling plane and still serves as the secondary aircraft in that role after the KC-135 Stratotanker and it makes the 17th largest airplane. The Extender is used to fuel everything from F-22 Raptors to C-17 Globemaster IIIs.

Description Edit

Built from the MD-11 and DC-10 Airliners, the Kc-10 was put into USAF service in 1981. The Kc-10 has played a key role in air mobilization and production stopped at 1987 though KC-10s still serve. They served in Iraq, Afghanistan and desert storm. Most pilots prefer the KC-135 but the KC-10 is still larger and can hold more fuel, about 356,000 Ib of fuel. The KC-10 serves the US and the Netherlands and the startegic air commands of both countries regard it as a very useful tool of war. with a range of 414,000 miles and a top speed of 619 mph, the KC-10 came out on top.
